Farewell to Fr. Dominic... and Welcome to Fr. Ranjan - Oct 31, 2010
St Andrew the Apostle parish held a Farewell luncheon to bid farewell to Fr. Dominic and to thank him for his many years of faithful stewardship of the Parish community. At the same time, the parish welcomed our new Pastor, Fr. Ranjan D'Sa, OCD.

Fr. Dominic's farewell message to the parish:

"Look toward the east, O Jerusalem, and see the joy that is coming to you from God" (Baruch 4.36)

Dear Parishioners of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish,

It is with sadness and joy that I face this moment of departure and welcome. Indeed, there is no question about it: Our joy comes to us by doing God's will, a will which is made manifest in God's Word. Learning how to embrace the cross is a training that every Christian is asked to undergo.

It has been an honour and a pleasure to work in this Parish for more than 16 years, out of which, 14 years and 5 months as Pastor. I want to thank all of you, without any exception, for all the support and encouragement that you have offered me during my stay here at St. Andrew's Parish. Together we have made a change for the better, and I am sure that with your support and help, Fr. Ranjan, your new Pastor, will be able to discover what I have discovered: Your love for God and your willingness to help when you are approached to do so.

Under the direction of my Superiors I will be looking EAST, and scripture does tell me that there is joy waiting for me. I will be taking a part of you with me because you all have a place in my heart. May God reward all of you and may He bestow on you His Peace!!! Do support your new Pastor, Fr. Ranjan, and help him in any way you can.

Rest assured of my prayers, and may I dare to ask for yours as I venture and journey toward the East. God bless you and keep you.

With much love and gratitude,

Fr. Dominic, OCD
